Another Monday

Duchess is such a trooper, this is where she spent most of her weekend right on couch next to
Kerry and I. She does not appear to be in pain, just uncomfortable and not moving around much. I know I will have to make a choice soon, so in the meantime we are spending all the time we can with her and making her life comfy. I love this puppy!!!!!


Well with the fish tank up and moving Tia now has something else to sit and watch all day! lol
This should keep her entertained and help ease the loss of Duchess when the time comes. They are truly best buds Duchess and Tia, both are very much aware of when they other one is sick or just having a bad day. They will often sit and nuzzle each others nose to let them know they care!


I did have some time to create yesterday inbetween snuggling with Duchess and reading. I used some more of the Scenic Route paper line some Fancy pants flowers and created this page for Jennifer's album. I need to get these photos copied again for Aidan, Tyler, and Sarah's album too.

With today brings a new boss at work. This could be another adventure, I am just so thankful I have a full time job during these economic times, only time will tell if it will get worse before better and I kinda think it will.
I called Josh last nite, just wanted to hear his voice and keep him updated about Duchess, I don't think he reads this blog, I have missed having him here but seems at his age right now this is best for him. I am thankful he has a job and loving grandparents to take him in and keep an eye out for him! Love and miss you Josh!
Ahhhhh, time to wrap and mail my Sisters gift her 44th birthday was Saturday and with all the devotion I have been giving Duchess, I neglected to get her gift out on time! UGH, I really hate that, I know she understood when I called and sang in my most horrible singing voice "Happy Birthday to you!" lol Love you Cindy! hope your day was great..

TGIF!!!

Lots of stuff going on this week! First up Duchess is still hanging in there, not well and I am tormented about the next phase of action needed. She does eat and drink, not as much as normal, but the weight of the fluid shes holding is wearing her out and making it hard for her to get comfy. So Kerry and I have been spending all our time with her letting her know how much we love her!

Next I did another layout yesterday for my book. Love that I have some fairly current (2007) photos of my nephews and niece. Used some Scenic Route Summer collection for these and a couple of my quickutz to even off the page looks cute... hehe

Kerry and I had a "date night" last night whooo hooo I love spending time with this guy, hes quiet most of the time, but that's ok I talk enough for both of us! We went to the Casino for the Free Prime Rib dinner( gets comped hoping you will go and gamble after!) The meal is yummie, last nite we had desert Creme Brule oh to die for, it was covered with fresh raspberries, blueberries and strawberries. We did hit the slots, took his $20.00 and we left. On the way home we stopped at PetSmart and picked up a glass top for the new aquarium and Kerry wanted fish. I am loving watching him get so excited about this project.

This morning after breakfast I noticed some wavy water in our pond.. Yes my ducks are back! We have a pair of Mallards that frequent our yard hoping they hang out to nest, will look into getting some hay or whatever they need and see what happens. So because I always have my camera accessible I shot these photos. I got some bread and lured them out to eat and after they went back to swim and preen, this little squirrel decided he wanted bread too!

Shopping Lists

Remember my previous posting about Target shopping lists, well here is the next installment the Feb/Mar collection. Mindless stuff to make our days fun and go quicker(we use the excuse we are working safe, picking up lists off floor!) lol We are getting a new boss next week hope she can appreciate fine art and humor!

Duchess is fairing about the same she is such a trooper does not go too far from my side when I am home she is definately my dog! Her eating has been better, but she still is carrying fluid and extra effort is needed for her breathing. But so far its been manageable for her, as long as she has comfort we will deal with it, afterall I got old too and it's not easy to get around anymore for me!

Sparky is being his typical self, chirpy and wanting out of the cage. He is growing quite a bit since I got him in Oct. 2007 he is doing a bit of moulting right now (not bad thank heavens) but otherwise looks cute!

Well enough photos and blathering, I'm off to check something out for Josh and onto Facebook... lol

So in other news, I have been busy working and reading. In my trip to the library last week, I saw this fun car parked in the parking lot. Definately caught my eye and looked like a good everyday around Naperville shot don't you agree?

Kerry has been busy and excited (he doesn't get excited over much) so it's fun to see him this way. We are welcoming a new addition to his home office FISH!!! lol. He found this fish tank on trash day on his paper route, sign said does not leak, so he picked it up and wala free tank! He just needs to find a top and wait on a filter replacement part, and then we can get fish.. I am excited for him (and me too) I love aquariums they are so relaxing. Here is what it looks like so far.

I've got alot to say today as I have not blogged in a few days. I completed another layout of my daughter Jen and my niece (goddaughter Sarah) they look so much alike it's like they could be sisters! I used more of my stash! yeah me Scenic Route Summer papers, some SEI buttons and a hand cut bird embellie. Layout was my own idea I like how it came out.

Say a Prayer

Happy St. Patricks day! I don't have any creative things to post today still working on them. I have a small mini bird book (Maya Road chipboard) I covered and plan on using for Sparky. Next up are goofy photos of Jen and my niece Sarah, nephews Tyler and Aidan. Will be a fun scrap on those.

Unfortunately my Duchess is not doing well, shes the baby at top of this blog. She seems to be collecting fluid around her heart and breathing heavy again. This happened about 6 months ago and we didn't know what it was. Medical is so expensive for people and pets, I spent alot of money to have her diagnosed with a tumor and fluid. They removed the fluid and told me it most likely will come back no time frame of course. So I prayed and prayed she would be ok, and she was till now. The signs are there that its coming back and I just can not afford the process again. With heavy heart I write this today, shes been with me 12 + years and my baby. So if you come across my blog and love pets please send a prayer her way.

Hcus Pocus

Ok as promised the last of the Halloween photos for Jen's book. I had a hard time filling up that upper left hand corner, and hesitated putting anything there but the page just didn't look complete. I added the rhinestone circle and stamped word inside and felt it was done. What do you think? I like how it allows Jennifer room to write if she wants to or just leaving blank will not detract from the photos.

Off to run errands with Kerry, still need to get a Birthday card finished up for Josh he will be 20 on the 16th! Time flew I can remember him being born earlier than the Dr's thought he would be and then every stage of his life after. lol

I did finally get my 3D Quickutz that I ordered back in Jan. (had trouble getting them in from China per The Scrapping Cottage) so I look forward to using them this weekend along with a new Tree die and an Exclusive Archiver's Bird! I'll post when I create with them.

Fun Times

Here is one of todays layouts for Jen's book. I talked to her today and she seems excited about the prospect of adding her own memories, once this book is completed its off in the mail and onto another journey in our lives.


I'm so excited to be scrapping these times for her and can't wait to do some more this weekend I am out at 3pm tomorrow and off this weekend so a scrapping i will go!! lol Yes i'm nuts everyone knows that.

Green Eggs & Ham??

So who loves Dr. Seuss???? I do we are lucky that our libraries are so cool they both now have the "Cat" statues. Today I went to return books and one of the favorites of mine was "Green Eggs & Ham" there is a cool statue of this for all to enjoy outside on the entrance way. I had to have photos to scrap n share.. so here you go!

Creating

Creating a MESS! lol working on the last of the Halloween photos, and man I've got everything out on my workspace looking for just the right embellishment.

Got my Groove

I am so excited to be scrapping and using my stash! I have been using the Scenic Route Salem collection for Jen's album and love how everything pulls together nicely. I seem to have got my groove again, with following a sketch or two, I now am pulling my layouts together quicker with my own eye. I still hope to utilize the sketch sites I have located and will credit them when I do, but for now these two came out of my head! lol scary I know.

I was excited to hear from Josh last nite, when I called him back we had a nice conversation. I love and miss him so much, but it seems to be better for him to live elsewhere and come to terms with who he is and who he wants to be.. :-) Good luck with your new job I think about you daily and can't wait to hear from you again!

Jen is an Auntie again, she was thrilled to have yet another nephew, the photos she sent are adorable, I can't wait to add them to her books.

Having terrible weather today! UGH T-storms and lightning with pouring rain, only hope they keep the peeps home from Target! (I know not good for $ales but on a closing weekend I don't need the crazy guests! ) LOL and they are out there, I realize the economy is not doing well and WE are all trying to get the most for our dollars, but there are just way tooo many dishonest people trying to take advantage of it. And that bugs the crap outta me!!! Well off to finish up another layout and get ready for work.

Another Sketch done

So here is my next sketch, I found this one on the Sketch this site, it is from 3/3 I only used two photos instead of 3, and still using the Scenic Route Salem Line, I decided to leave the journal spot blank till I get both of the guys names from my daughter, I know the name for one but not the other. Alot of my scrapping for her books going forward will have blank journal areas or some type of hidden place for her to record her memories.. LOL, thats the hard part for me.

Today was a fun mail day for me, I got my order of Three Bugs in a Rug "Homegrown", "What a Hoot" and "Happy Birdday" lol can't wait to use these lines, I also got some of the new pebbles collection "So Tweet" can you see a theme here? It's all about home and birds here for me. Last night I picked up the new "Tree ( Feb. 09 release) from Quickutz" at Archivers... see I told you there is a theme going on.. I just love nature!

Ohhh I gotta tell everyone I signed up for Facebook today! Yikes that could be a huge mistake, lol you could really get sucked into that huh? I probably will stay away and just peek into it.. time will tell.

Tonight Kerry has a pot roast going in the crock pot yum! I love this man he is the best!!

Weekend project

So as promised yesterday here is my So Sketchy take on the 3/1 sketch. I had used Scenic Route and pictures of Jen with her friends. They are so photogenic!! Love how this came out, off to look for another sketch, I never really used sketches before but I like the ease and challenge of using them watch for more!

Sunday Brunch

We had brunch at the Casino as planned and a surprise from my sister in law she joined us! It was fun, she is the one I made the Home mini book for not too long ago and she could not stop telling me how much she loved it. That makes it worthwhile for me to continue creating. I was in awe as she said it probably was one of the "best gifts" she ever got. I was amazed and kind of pleased at the same time.
I finished up my Kabul Beauty School book- and moved on to "Plum Spooky" by Janet Evanovich. I just love Stephanie Plum, she makes me bellie laugh, I remember the first book I read "One for the Money" and was bellie laughing so much Kerry came to investigate, now he just knows I'm reading.. lol.
I did manage to make a couple more layouts 8 x 8 size for my pet book, 3 infact, 1 is completed and the other two need embellies and journaling. I am having a creative weekend and loving it!
A quick update : I was able to complete 3 8 x 8 pages for my pet book, 3 pages documenting the 2008 Election of Barack Obama! The 1 page I had already posed about my daughter Jen, and I followed the So Sketchy 3/1 layout and completed yet another page for Jen's book on Halloween.
I'll post that one tomorrow, i'm off to bed now.. whew this scrapping stuff is making me tired!!! lol
